  • Zelenskyy, Wednesday, rejected the idea that two Ukrainians were killed in Poland by a missile from Ukraine.
  • “I have no doubt that this was not our missile,” Zelenskyy declared.
  • NATO and Poland concluded that the deaths could have been caused by a Ukrainian missile gone rogue.

Volodymyr Zeleskyy, President of Ukraine, rebutted Wednesday’s assessments from NATO and Western governments, claiming that an air defense missile fired by Ukraine accidentally struck Polish territory. This resulted in the deaths of two people.

Zelenskyy stated to Ukrainian media that he had no doubt that the missile was not ours. per Reuters.According to the leader of Ukraine, Ukraine was entitled to participate in the investigation into the incident.

Zelenskyy, who explicitly blamed Russia on the fatal strike the day before, called it a “significant increase” in war. As more information was available, Western officials were far more cautious.

NATO and Poland both stated Wednesday that the deadly explosion was likely caused by a Ukrainian missile defense system that went awry.

“From the information that we and our allies have, it was an S-300 rocket made in the Soviet Union, an old rocket, and there is no evidence that it was launched by the Russian side,” Polish President Andrzej Duda said. It is highly probable that it was fired from the Ukrainian antiaircraft defense.

Duda claimed that there was nothing that suggested that it was an intentional attack. Referring to the incident, Duda said: “unfortunate accident.”

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg also stated that there was no evidence that any deaths were due to a “deliberate assault.”

Stoltenberg stated, “We have no evidence that Russia is planning offensive military actions towards NATO.” He added, “Our preliminary analysis suggests the incident was likely caused a Ukrainian Air Defence missile fired to defend Ukrainian territory contre Russian cruise missile attacks.”

However, NATO’s chief was not apathetic.

“Let me be clear: it is not Ukraine’s fault. Stoltenberg declared that Russia has the ultimate responsibility for its illegal war on Ukraine.

These sentiments were echoed Wednesday by the White House.

Adrienne Watson, National Security Council spokesperson: “We haven’t seen anything to contradict President Duda’s preliminary assessment that the explosion was most likely due to a Ukrainian air defence missile that unfortunately fell in Poland.” Statement.

There were many reactions to the first news about the explosion. There are serious concernsThere were concerns about Russia and NATO threatening direct confrontation, but these worries are now gone after Poland and other countries have determined that this incident wasn’t a deliberate attack on a NATO member.

Despite this, there are indications that the Ukrainian government may have changed its approach to the incident.
