Billionaire investor Yuri MilnerOn Monday, he announced that he had given up his Russian citizenship more than seven years after the start of the Ukraine conflict.
The founder of tech investment firm DST Global made the announcement in a tweet.He claimed that he and his relatives had completed the Russian citizenship renunciation process in the summer. He added that they had “forever” left Russia in 2014 after Russia’s annexation Crimea.

Milner appears to be separating himself from Russian President Vladimir Putin’s government.
Milner’s website factsheet states that he has not been back to Russia since 2014 and has no assets there. It also says that 97% of Yuri’s personal wealth was made outside of Russia. Milner has also been stated as having “never met Vladimir Putin individually or as part of a team.”
