On Wednesday, James Bond, the renowned British spy agent, celebrated 60 years of service on the silverscreen. Who will take on the role of James Bond?
After Daniel Craig’s last appearance as the suave superspy, the search for a replacement actor is not over, claim Bond siblings Barbara Broccoli & Michael G. Wilson. There’s no time to waste.

Before the 60th Anniversary of the World Premiere of Dr. NoBroccoli said in an interview that Bond’s first film, Bond, was not looking for an actor.
Broccoli added that what’s exciting to be in this place right now is that they have to start a “whole new reinvention.”
What characteristics are filmmakers looking for in a Bond actor? As fans continue to speculate about the casting of Bond actors in some of Hollywood’s most desired roles, they also want to know:
Speaking about the qualities they are looking for, Wilson said, “We want, first of all, a good actor, an actor who is just not necessarily an action actor, but someone who can play what we hope will be the demanding roles that we write in the scripts.”
Additionally, he mentioned actors who have played the role in the past and stated that “That’s probably number one, but it is so difficult to… I mean, if you look at the actors who portrayed Bond, it’s very hard to pin down any common characteristic.”
Sean Connery was the first to portray Ian Fleming’s fictional spy. George Lazenby and Roger Moore played the role. Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and finally Craig.

Broccoli says that the success of the franchise is dependent on the choice of the right actor.
Broccoli was thankful that the creators chose Sean Connery to play the role originally, saying, “I think if it had not been him, who knows whether we’d still be here 60 years afterwards. Each actor has helped to transform the series and kept it relevant and fresh for their time.
