Friday movie night has become a tradition. However, WhatsApp released a teaser trailer for a new film on Friday. The film is called “Naija Odyssey” and the promo image includes an unusual credit that reads, “A WhatsApp Film.”
You’re not the only one surprised. Meta, a Meta-owned messaging service, released the trailer for WhatsApp’s first original film. It will start streaming on September 21.

According to the trailer, it is a true story about Giannis Antetokounmpo who was born in Greece to Nigerian parents. The YouTube trailer describes that the movie is about Antetokounmpo’s personal life and how it relates to the world. This gives us a glimpse into his character.
According to TechCrunchNaija Odyssey is a shorter film than a full-length feature. WhatsApp’s bizarre decision to make the film is more promotional since it signed a long-term agreement with Antetokounmpo earlier in the year. Bloomberg).
