Washington wife is found alive after being kidnapped and brutally raped in an Apple Watch 911 call

FIRST ON FOX The suspect vehicle speeds by a responding officer. He is soon heard on the open 911 phone arriving at a residence just seconds after a violent kidnapping that resulted in the death of a Washington woman. Hours of burialOutside the town, in the woods.

According to Lacey police officers, Chae An (53), allegedly attacked Young An (42) in a money dispute. He then tied her up using duct tape and stabbed her. Then he buried her in a 19-inch hole in the woods.

One camera caught him speeding past a police car – with the victim tied up with duct tape in the back, police confirmed to Fox News Digital.

The cruiser was on the way to Young An’s home in response to a muffled 911 call, also obtained by Fox News Digital, which had been placed by the hogtied and gagged victim through her Apple Watch. The responding officer was unaware at the time of the suspect vehicle’s description or that there had been an abduction, a Lacey Police Department spokeswoman said, and at the end of the recording, his voice can be heard on the line as he enters the home.

“The dispatch was an ‘Unknown trouble,’” Sgt. Shannon Barnes explained Wednesday. “So he did not know what he was going to walk into.” 

Just minutes after the alleged abduction, he entered Young An’s house. According to court records, her husband allegedly took the watch off of her wrist using a hammer. However, the call remained active.

According to police documents, he allegedly got into a fight over money that he thought he would lose in the ongoing divorce proceedings with his wife. According to investigators, he allegedly attacked her at home and tied him up with duct-tape on Oct. 16.

When he left the room – possibly to move the van inside and conceal the abduction – She dialed 911 Her Apple Watch sent her emergency alerts to her children, and one friend. The disturbing recording is filled of sobs, screams and random mashed keys.

Young An was bound and gagged and unable to speak, but the dispatcher recognized something was wrong and sent officers to the house.

“I’m gonna get help started for you – hold on for a second,” the dispatcher says, in response to muffled screaming. She asks Young An if she’s okay and reads Young An’s address.

The gag makes the victim sound like “Yes” and the dispatcher uses it to make the victim laugh. Young An is reassured by the dispatcher throughout the call. “I’m still here,” she promises, promising to stay on line until officers arrive.

Another angle, recorded by a home security system at a neighbor’s house across the street, showed the man storming out of a garage door, pulling a van inside. He is suspected to have taken her with him behind closed doors and loaded her in the back of his vehicle. His movements were also recorded by several other cameras located in the area.

Chae An allegedly drove his wife to the woods seven miles away and then threw her in an unmarked grave. He also covered her with dirt, branches and leaves. Prosecutors allege that he stabbed his wife in the breast at one point.

Chae An was still inside Chae An’s van hours later. Young An crawled out from the hole and ran for half an hour through the woods until he found a good Samaritan and called 911.

She was found hiding behind a shed by the first deputy who arrived on the scene.

According to the probable cause statement, Young “sprinted at them screaming and crying for help when she realized that the deputy was law enforcement.” “She grabbed onto the deputy frantically and said, ‘My husband is trying to kill me. Help me.’”

Chae An was found in the woods by police six hours later. He has been kept without bail ever since, close to the shallow grave that he is accused for throwing his wife into. At the scene, police found pieces of the Apple Watch sticking to duct tape.

Lacey police had previously responded to the home in 2021, resulting in Chae An’s arrest. He was subjected to an order of protection, which the court later rescinded upon his wife’s request.

According to court records, he only visited the house once per week to do laundry at the time of his crime.

Chae An pleaded no guilty to attempted first-degree murder and first-degree domestic violent kidnapping charges Tuesday. He is currently being held without bail, and will be back in court on November 16.
