Warriors observations: Draymond Green’s return, James Wiseman’s strong play

SAN FRANCISCO — Draymond GreenWe will be back in the WarriorsFor practice Thursday. Green will play in the team’s preseason finale Friday night and is cleared for opening night against the Lakers. Steve Kerr announced that news in his postgame press conference Tuesday night, triggering the next step in what Kerr referred to as the “biggest crisis” he has faced as coach of the Warriors.

Kerr stated that any criticism of the organization for its leniency is fair. However, the decision to fine Green and not suspend him for the vicious practice punch he delivered was fair. Jordan PooleThis was after many behind-the-scenes discussions between players, coaches, and management. Green and Poole were the most important of those meetings, which gave Green the green light to allow the Warriors’ progress with Green.

“He’s cool,” Kerr said of Poole. “Not much fazes him. That’s part of the reason we are going the way we’re going. He’s fine. We know that he’s willing to move forward. We know that he’s basically willing to get back out on the floor with Draymond and get to work.”

These are some other key quotes Kerr gave during an 18-minute postgame conference, which was mainly focused on Green’s fallout and the decision not to quickly bring him back in the fold.

• Kerr on his trust level of Green: “A couple times in his career he has crossed the line. Kevin, whatever year it was, crossed the line with him. He did it in an even worse, much worse way the other night.
