Wall Street Journal reports that Cuba needs U.S. help after Hurricane Ian.

Cuba’s The government has madeThe Wall Street Journal reported Friday that a request for emergency assistance by the U.S. President Joe Biden was made after Hurricane Ian caused power outages to the entire island of 11,000,000 people.

The island nation was hit by Hurricane Ian on Tuesday. It caused widespread blackouts and flatten homes, as well as destroying fields of agricultural land. Cubans protested against the government after the power cut, raising concerns about ongoing fuel, food and medicine shortages.

Washington estimates that Cuban authorities would prioritize hospitals, water pumping stations, sanitation, and other critical infrastructure in the event of a coup. Biden administration offered aidThe Wall Street Journal reported that the review of emails had been done.

The State Department didn’t immediately respond to a request to comment on the report. Neither did Cuba’s Embassy in Washington.
