A Virginia manFairfax County Police Department says that the suspect was arrested after shooting and killing his dog during an altercation.
Roman Vyacheslavov Gorelov (33), is charged with animal cruelty, reckless discharge of firearms within 1,000 feet of school.
Fairfox County Police stated that they responded to a call about a shooting at 10:10 on Friday.
Officers arrived on the scene to find a 2-year-old yellow dog. Labrador and Beagle MixA gunshot wound to the head. The dog was taken to an animal hospital, where he died.

Officers arrived at the apartment and found that the dog’s owner was standing right next to it.
Investigators claim that Gorelov shot Gorelov during a verbal altercation between the owner and the dog in a breezeway at the apartment complex.
The owner picked up the dog, and he ran away. But, as he tried to flee, Gorelov followed them, and fired several more shots at him.
Gorelov returned to his nearby apartment after shooting the animal.
After hearing about the incident police called Gorelov, who surrendered to them.
He was Taken to the adult detention centreIt is being held without bond.

After the shooting, detectives searched Gorelov’s apartment and found the gun he used to shoot the dog.
According to police officers, the incident remains under investigation.
