Vikings’ Kirk Cousins says Stefon Diggs trade worked out for ‘everybody involved’ ahead of matchup with Bills

Kirk Cousins has been with us for two seasons. Stefon diggs made a great connection. Diggs caught 163 passes, totalling 2,151 yards and 15 touchdowns in their Minnesota time together. 

Diggs then wanted to leave. He was eventually traded by the Vikings to the Buffalo Bills. This gave them the 22nd pick. 2020 NFL Draft

That pick became Justin Jefferson, who was fourth in the NFL in receiving yards in his rookie season and has 20 touchdown catches in his first 2 ½ years in the league.

Keep an eye out for Minnesota’s matchup with the BillsCousins claimed that both sides have benefited from the move on Sunday.

“I think it’s one that’s worked out for everybody involved,” Cousins said Wednesday when asked to reflect on the trade. “I think Stefon was wanting a different opportunity, and his production in Buffalo would suggest that’s worked out very well for him.

“It was tough to lose him, but when you’re able to go get Justin – which is not easy to do – when you lose Stefon without the guarantee of replacing that, it’s hard. Being able to get Justin made it sting a little less, if you will, with the way Justin’s played. Stefon, however, is an elite receiver. He’s shown that here, he’s shown that there, and he’s doing it again this year. And it doesn’t surprise me in the least having played with him.”

Diggs hasn’t missed a beat since the deal, catching 290 passes to Buffalo for 3,617 yards and 25 touchdowns.

Diggs will play his former team for the first-time Sunday, and Diggs has been a noticeable wide receiver. Jefferson’s immense talents

Diggs said Wednesday about Jefferson that “it’s hard to not pay attention” according to NFL.com. “When one of the receivers is playing at a very high level in the league, you won’t be able not to see other guys playing at a very high level.”

The health and wellbeing of Bills quarterback Josh AllenThis is the biggest question mark going into Sunday’s game. After injuring his throwing arm against the New York Jets in Week 9, Allen has been restricted to practice.
