“Very late move!” ‘Very late move!’ – Fernando Alonso was sent to airborne by his future Aston Martin teammate Lance Stroll, but somehow races on at US Grand Prix

Lance Stroll, future teammate of Fernando Alonso, sent Fernando Alonso into the air as the pair managed to avoid injury at this year’s United States Grand Prix.

Alonso managed to keep going despite having all four wheels lifted into the sky as he flew past Stroll.

Alonso continued to race despite being sent up in the sky.

After an accident that caused Valtteri Bottas to stop the race on lap 22, the racing had resumed at the Circuit of the Americas.

Alonso headed onto the massive back straight from turn 11, and pulled to his left to pass. However, Stroll was able to make a better exit.

Alonso was then sent flying on two wheels after the front right of the Alpine hit the Aston Martin’s rear left.

Stroll spun and lost two tires. The following drivers avoided further collisions.

Alonso, however, managed to carry on despite his flight. Stroll was also a wreck at the circuit’s middle.

“Very late move,” the Spaniard said over the radio, with the moment seeing both drivers called to the race stewards for an investigation.

Stroll was then left to his own devices.

It might also be a chilly meeting, as Alonso joins Stoll at Aston next year. Alonso, who shocked Formula 1 by announcing a departure from Alpine, will also be joining Stoll at Aston.

Stroll will continue with the Silverstone-based side following his father’s purchase of the team in 2018.
