US Intel Claims Iran Will Help Russia Build Drones For Use in Ukraine: WaPo

  • According to reports, Iran has agreed that it will help Russia produce attack drones. The Washington Post.

According to a report by, Iran has agreed that it will provide assistance to Russia with unmanned attack helicopters in support of its ongoing war in Ukraine. The Washington PostThat cited unnamed US officials.

Despite being unprovoked, Russia’s war on Ukraine has continued since February. In recent weeks, Russian forces have been withdrawing from southern areas.In the nine months since the beginning of this year, there have been many reports about war crimes including Rape TortureAt least ten suicide drones were used in attacks on civilians in Ukraine. Experts say that spreading terror and chaos is a common problem. According to The Post. Russia used more that 400 drones manufactured in Iran during the war against Ukraine.

Although Russia has not confirmed its use of Iranian drones, Ruslan Pukhov, an advisor to Russia’s defense ministry, did. It is possible to mistakenly sayIt will be on the air in October.

An unnamed official said to The Post that “it is proceeding quickly from decision making to implementation.” It is moving quickly, and it has lots of steam.

Iran had previously denied providing drones to Russia. But Hossein Amirabdollahian, Iran’s Foreign Minister, has since confirmed this. This was earlier in the monthIran sent drones “before” the Ukraine war. 

The New York Times pointed outRussia and Iran might have joined forces to resist US sanctions.

Adrienne Watson, National Security Council spokesperson, stated to The Washington Post: “Iran or Russia can lie about the world, but the truth is that Iran and Russia are helping Ukraine kill civilians by providing weapons and aiding Russia in its operations.” This is yet another indication of the isolation Russia and Iran are in.
