Ukraine Trolls Russia About UN Vote. Use Binoculars To Find 4 Allies

  • Only four countries are against Russia’s annexation at the UN of Ukrainian regions.
  • The UN representative for Ukraine mocked Russia by sharing a photo taken at the UN with binoculars.

After only four countries voted against its annexation, Ukraine made fun of Russia at the UN.

Sergiy Kyslytsya (the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to United Nations) shared a photo of himself at UN Headquarters in New York and wrote: “Oh God!” It’s impossible to see! What percentage of you voted for Russia? 4? Blimey! …”

Reuters reported that Kyslytsya was seen using binoculars in a photo taken in the room just before Wednesday’s vote. 

143 countries supported the UN General Assembly resolution to condemn Russia’s annexed territory and demand its return.

Russia joined four other countries in opposing the resolution. They were North Korea, Belarus and Syria.

Some post-Soviet countries that are Usually, Russia’s allies are seen as being among the 35 countries that abstained from voting.This is a sign of how isolated Russia became since its invasion of Ukraine.

Votes of the General Assembly are not binding and will not result in any specific action in Ukraine.
