Presidents Cup 2022: How it works

The Presidents Cup takes place over four days. There are four sets of team matches on Saturday and twelve singles on Sunday.

Each team will compete for a total score of 30 points throughout the event.

Fourball matches pit two golfers against each other, each playing his own ball. The hole with the lowest total score wins.

The Foursome, however, has each duo taking alternate shots to complete their hole.

Each player is required to play at least one match before Sunday’s singles involving all 24 players.

  • Day 1 (Thursday): Five fourball matches
  • Day 2 (Friday): Five foursome matches
  • Day 3 (Saturday): Four fourball matches and four foursome matches
  • Day 4 (Sunday): 12 singles matches
