Florida’s ZEPHYRHILLS – Three trespassers allegedly attempted to kill her horses for their meat over the weekend, according to a Zephyrhills resident.
Some of the wounds Brena Kramer displayed to FOX 13 News included rope burns close to the horses’ mouths and cuts near their eyes. According to her, one horse had a rope tied around its neck.
Kramer admits she was not shocked but wants to warn other horse owners.
Kramer says it is quite common in the South. They’ll let the horses bleed out and then begin butchering them.
Horse slaughter in Marion, Sumter and Manatee has left owners worried.
Kramer believes that anyone who might have been on Kramer’s property was scared by her two rottweilers.
Pasco County officers described the incident suspiciously and stated that they were investigating it.
Horse owners are reminded to be cautious and to report unusual behavior.
