Twitter created a way for people to not get confused by the soon-to be-for-sale blue checksmarks and verified accounts. They launched an “Official Label”. This is not for everyone.

Accounts with a blue tick already will be given the “Official status” to show that they have been verified. This label will likely be awarded to all new accounts that successfully complete the verification process.
