Twitter skewers vandals who threw black paint on famous painting in Austria: ‘Jail isn’t enough’

Twitter users were shocked and outraged Climate activistsIn the name of protecting the environment, we tried to destroy another masterpiece of art.

On Tuesday, members of climate activist group “Last Generation” threw what observers described as “black, oily liquid” on Gustav Klimt’s painting, “Death and Life,” at the Leopold Museum in Vienne, Austria.

Two activists approached the famous painting, and one poured the liquid across its face. The liquid was then thrown by the activist, who turned to the stunned viewers and gave a speech about ending fossil fuels.

In an apparent effort to make it more difficult for security personnel to remove them, the other activist was seen gluing themselves to the painting. Footage captured one security agent intervening and trying to remove the paint thrower. He continued shouting climate change propaganda. 

Vienna was the latest high-profile incident in a series of attempted vandalism. climate change demonstrationsFor the protection of priceless works art. Recently, one of Van Gogh’s masterpieces in England had a can of Tomato soup poured over it by climate activists.

These artifacts are protected from destruction by protection barriers.

However, social media users were still outraged at the spectacle. On Twitter, critics vented their outrage at the vandals.

Christian Toto, conservative film critic Addressed HollywoodTweeted: “Hello Hollywood activists… You might wanna stand for art sooner than later.”

Chris Tomlinson of Breitbart noted that there was a double standard with this stunt. He tweeted: “Activists who peacefully protested against mass migration in Vienna were harassed by the whole state. These idiots will likely get a medal for President Van der Bellen.”

Ian Miles Cheong, Journalist, said that the clip was not enough.

Harry Khachatrian, Washington Examiner contributor, shared his ideas on how to deal with these protesters. He said, “They should enforce mandatory minimal prison sentences of 25 year without parole for vandalism, and see how often that happens again.”

Radio host Grace Curley tweeted, “Let’s stop calling these people ‘environmental activists’ and start calling them vandals.”
