A long-time Democrat writer and civil rights attorney, she said Thursday that she will vote Republican for her first time. She was motivated by the left’s acceptance of “authoritarian,” measures during the COVID pandemic as well as the censorship of other views.
“Though I was a Democrat all my life, until 2020, I will vote red in November and every election thereafter. I believe this, despite many disagreements with the platforms. Republican PartyJenin Younes, a Twitter user, wrote this week that it poses far less threat than Democrats.
On Thursday, Younes informed Steve Doocy that she had to make the change because of several critical issues, including gender identity politics for children, Biden executive overreach and censorship, as well as “authoritarianism.”
She said, “I would say that I initially associated Democrats with sticking upfor the little guy and being anti-corporation even anti-biggovernment,” while appearing on “The View.”Fox & Friends.”
She added that “Things are different now, and I would argue especially with COVID, where Democrats really embraced authoritarian policy in terms of closing schools and businesses.”
Younes criticized Democrats’ reputation for censorship, especially through the Social media and Big Tech crackdownsShe said that the issues she believes are so important made it a priority to vote Republican.
“We even have a voting bloc called ‘Democrats for DeSantis’ because we’ve really admired his way of dealing with COVID,” she said.

“[That’s]Another issue I have with Democrats is the current state of their elections. Younes stated that while I do not have a problem allowing adults to do whatever they like, I do have a problem when people push children to have surgeries and confuse them about their identity.

Other lifelong Democrats have made their exit from the party in light recent issues. This includes former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard. Gabbard lashed out at the Democratic Party as an “elitist Cabal of Warmongers Driven by Cowardly Wakingness”, which she claimed bends to “anti White racism.”
