Tulsa Detective Rescues Pit Bull & Her 8 Puppy From Trash Dump

Tulsa Police Detective found a Pit Bull and her eight babies living in a trash heap. She was a dog lover and knew that she had to do something to save their lives.

Marnie Waller of the Tulsa Police Department spotted a skinny pup wandering the area near her husband’s work. She was unable to shake her furry friend, so she decided to investigate.

Marnie and her husband spent some time searching for Marnie. They discovered that Marnie was living in the trash at a local dump. The couple wanted to do everything they could to help the dog, but she was scared of their friendship.

“On the weekends we would go over and continue to feed and friend her and we realized she was living in a trash dump.” – Marnie Waller

Marnie set out to rescue the Pit Bull and made it her mission from that point on. Marnie went to the dump often to give her food and to show the Pittie she was kind. Marnie trusted Marnie enough that she allowed her to take a closer look. It was obvious that Marnie was very pregnant.

Marnie understood that it was vital to capture the pregnant pup. She didn’t want the puppies to be raised in such a dangerous environment, let alone watch momma fight to survive yet another day.

Although her goal was to win her trust before the puppies were born she was not able to do so. All eight puppies had been born when she returned to the dump. They were scattered in a pile of trash. Marnie knew this was the day to rescue her family.

Sapulpa Police, Sapulpa Animal Rescue and Sapulpa Police helped the rescue team. They began to dig through the contaminated trash pile and picked up each of the day-old puppies one-by-one. All eight pups were freed from their heartbreaking reality, shifting the focus to momma’s rescue.

The family is now under the care of the Humane Society’s vet team and will be heading to their foster home soon. We can’t wait to watch this adorable pack grow as the days go on and watch them find the forever families they each deserve.
