  • Tucker Carlson is having a beef with Tom Emmer, the House GOP campaign chair, per Axios’ Jonathan Swan.
  • Per Axios: Friday, Carlson called Emmer to vent his anger about his son Buckley.
  • Carlson demanded to be informed by which GOP aide made unflattering remarks regarding Buckley.

Fox News’ Tucker Carlson, a Fox News host, called Tom Emmer (top House Republican Rep.) on Friday and asked him to reveal who in the GOP made unflattering comments about his son.

Carlson’s beef is based on Emmer. Jonathan Swan, Axios, is an October 21 report from the Daily Beast in which an unnamed GOP strategist made a disparaging remark about Buckley Carlson — Carlson’s son and the communications director for Rep. Jim Banks.

According to Axios Carlson called Emmer on Friday in an enraged conversation. Four sources who were briefed about Carlson’s conversation with Emmer said that Carlson demanded Emmer name the person who made the comment regarding his son. Axios reports that Carlson claimed Emmer would be blamed for the comment if no one was named.

Emmer repeated to Carlson that his office had not given the quote about Buckley Carlson from the Daily Beast. Carlson was not convinced and stated to Emmer that they now have beef.

According to the Daily Beast’s October 21 article the unnamed Republican strategist claimed that Banks hired Buckley Carlson to strengthen his position in order to clinch the House Republican whip position over Emmer, who is the chair of National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC).

“Deep Down, he dies for the Establishment. Tucker Carlson’s son hires him as communications director, the strategist said to The Daily Beast of Banks.

Axios spoke to Michael McAdams, NRCC communications director, about the allegations that Emmer made comments about Buckley Carlson. He said that they were “baseless”, and meant to distract and divide Republicans.

“Chairman Emmer’s staff has never attacked any of his colleagues.” McAdams stated to Axios that “Perhaps.”

Meanwhile, members of the GOP’s far-right — including Donald Trump Jr., the son of former President Donald Trump — accused Emmer of trashing Buckley Carlson.

“Why did Tom Emmer tell his advisors to go to the leftwing Daily Beast and trash Tucker Carlson and Jim Banks?” Is this really his winning strategy in a Republican House Leadership race? Pathetic!” Donald Trump Jr. TweetOctober 21,
