Trump Spends $100 Million on Dr. Oz Candidates

  • Trump is using his vast war chest to support a number of key Republican Senate hopefuls.
  • Ex-president uses a super PAC recently launched to buy ads in Ohio and Georgia.
  • This outfit has targeted Senate races in Pennsylvania and Nevada, Georgia, Arizona, Ohio, Ohio, and Nevada so far.

Donald Trump, the former president, is reaching into his almost $100 million war fund to support key Republican Senate candidate candidates in the last weeks before the midterm election.

Trump’s new super PAC, “MAGA Inc”, has spent millions in Pennsylvania, Georgia and Arizona so far. Each state has a contested Senate race, which could determine whether Republicans retake control in a 50-50 vote. It’s hard to determine how much money this group is spending on newly purchased advertising time. AdImpact, an advertising tracking company, stated to Insider that the group is spending no more than $2,000,000 per state at this time.

Politico reported previously that “MAGA Inc.” wanted to make a big splash in the midterm.Taylor Budowich, a Trump spokesperson, oversees the super PAC. Trump spent minimal money to support Republican candidates prior to this latest news. Instead, the ex-president has been using endorsements and rallies to show off his kingmaker status.

Trump’s endorsement helped former football star Herschel Wade, reality TV star Mehmet Oz, author JD Vance and venture capitalist Blake Masters to their respective nominations for Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania and Ohio. Trump is now in a position to weaken his political brand if any of their campaigns fail. Adam Laxalt, a former Nevada Attorney General was a high-ranking 2020 campaign official and led an unsuccessful effort against Biden’s win there.

Because the super PAC spends, ads cannot be coordinated with other campaigns. Outside spending can make a big difference in close races, especially if the candidates or their party are tight on cash.

According to the most recent campaign filings, Oz and Masters were easily outdone by their Democratic counterparts in terms of fundraising. Most pundits view the races as too close for comfort. The Cook Political ReportVance still holds an Ohio edge, while Masters is just behind Sen. Mark Kelly.
