Trump Shuts DeSantis and Leaves Him Out Of Lineup for Florida Rally

On Wednesday, former President Donald Trump announced a Miami rally for Florida Sen. Marco Rubio. However, he left Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis was not on his guest list.

The full day will begin on November 6, just two days before the midterm election. According to a Save America PAC schedule, the event will begin at 8 a.m. and the former president will speak at 5 p.m. DeSantis being iced out of Trump’s event means that any event the governor plans for Sunday will have to compete with Trump or Rubio for airtime.

DeSantis staff told PoliticoThey weren’t notified of Trump’s rally in advance and were upset by it.

“You have Trump parachuting in and Trump Force One taking over the whole day. This is the situation you’ve got,” a long-time Republican consultant said to Politico. “No Republican could attend a DeSantis event on that day. None. DeSantis won’t be here? This is huge.”

Another source unnamed close to DeSantis said to the outlet that the rally announcement was “an elbow on Ron’s throat.”

Trump’s decision comes amid growing rumors about DeSantis running for president in 2024. 

Trump and DeSantis have not officially announced a presidential campaign, but there is a possibility of a showdown between the two. This could be the largest possible GOP rivalry for the next election.

Trump spoke with two people recently who spoke to them. CNNTrump claimed that DeSantis was a problem and that he is not grateful for his 2018. Trump was once an DeSantis ally, and he supported his run as governor in 2018.

Another sign that Trumpworld could be quickly changing isRoger Stone, an ex-Trump adviser, wrote a Wednesday message to DeSantis. Stone addressed DeSantis as “Ron DeSanctimonius” and stated that running against Trump in 2024 was “the most astonishing act of ingratitude or treachery in American politics history.”

DeSantis has not ruled a presidential run. Did not commitDuring Monday’s debate, he was elected to serve four full years as governor. A DeSantis representative Insider in July that the governor is “focused on Florida and running for reelection as governor this year.”

Politico was told by an unnamed Trump advisor that the announcement was not meant to be a direct insult against DeSantis. They stated that Trump was holding this event as part of his series of stops to support Republican Senate candidate. “It happened after he and Senator Rubio had spoken directly.”

Insider reached out to Rubio, DeSantis and Trump for clarification.
