MIAMI, Florida — Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday blasted the FBI’s Mar-a-Lago searchfor classified documents at his Florida residence, but he shared that he found one silver lining in it all.
In a speech at the Intercontinental Miami, Trump said the news “helicopters” flying over Mar-a-Lago since the search only boosted business for the private oceanfront club in Palm Beach, Florida.
Trump claimed that the Hispanic Leadership Conference in Miami was free publicity worth $5 billion.
“People say, ‘That’s a nice home,’” he said. “If it weren’t so nice, they probably wouldn’t be doing it.”
Mar-a-Lago membership is private, and it’s paid by annual fees. Given that Mar-a-Lago has been closed since Mother’s Day, it is not possible to determine if membership has changed. The club won’t reopen until October 31. Insider previously reported.
