Trump Fan in Ohio Finds JD Vances’ Closing Pitch Missing

• JD Vance, GOP Senate hopeful, is racing across Ohio ahead the midterms.
• Vance was criticized by a Trump supporter at a recent rally for not moving beyond the 2020 election challenges.
• Vance’s and Ohio’s GOP leaders are pushing back against election deniers, but Trump’s base isn’t going to budge.

ZANESVILLE, Ohio — Courtney Drenan, an ardent supporter of former President Donald Trump, stopped by the Ohio Republican Party’s midday rally in Zanesville on Thursday to give Senate hopeful JD Vance and others on the GOP ticket one last chance to plainly state their positions on the issue she’s most passionate about: the 2020 election. 

Drenan stated to Insider, “I believe it was stolen.”

“And I don’t think these candidates really are doing anything to stop it happening again,” she stated about her primary concern before the 2022 midterms.

Vance was very kind to Vance. After Mike DeWine and other supporters made their case for voting Republican next week, Drenan, who is a strong believer in Trump’s false claims of electoral fraud rendered her verdict.

Drenan claimed that “I’m certainly not voting for Vance and DeWine”, describing the two politicians as having “glommed onto” the MAGA movement but weren’t able to follow through when it really mattered to the former president.

Guernsey County resident says “they didn’t convince me” and adds that many conservatives in the local area still have questions about the election. It’s being ignored, I feel.

Vance’s rejection of Drenan by Drenan Race against Democratic Rep. Tim RyanThe 50-50 Senate could be decided by the winner. This illustrates the difficult path the first-time candidate must tread in a state Trump carried eight percentage points in 2016 or 2020. 

Vance previously supported Trump’s false claims that he beat President Joe Biden. However, he has tried to distance himself form the hardcore election-denier group, telling The New York Times on Tuesday, “He has not supported Trump’s bogus claims about beating President Joe Biden.” Would accept the 2022 election results, even if it was a loss. 

Darrel Fawacett, Guernsey County Republican Party Chair, stated that Vance, as most people in the Buckeye State are more interested planning for the future than dwelling on the past. 

“Here, in southeastern Ohio we remember Trump. Fawcett said that they have moved on at the Zanesville rally. He added that we don’t want to dwell on Biden winning the lawful election last time. 

When Drenan was asked his opinion about Drenan potentially being alienated by the MAGA, he replied that he would not. Leads are narrowVance encouraged Ryan to see the bigger picture and Vance supported Ryan. 

Vance stated that “most voters I speak to are very worried about their future, in particular the inflation crisis, and the crime problem within the state of Ohio,” Vance said to Insider at the Zanesville rally. “So that is where we are focusing our messaging.” 

Vance also stated that he, along with other Ohio Republicans, supports tightening voter ID laws. Drenan’s criticisms, Vance stated that he believes we are clearly the election integrity party. 

Drenan stated that she is tired of “genuflecting” establishment Republicans, but Drenan wasn’t buying it. 

“I would like to hear them be more aggressive. Is the election stolen, or not? Drenan stated that she expected “a little more of a toughcore opinion” on the matter. 

Drenan indicated that she thinks Vance will win next Tuesday because there is a red wave. 

Instead, she’ll do like Fawcett said — just on her own terms. 

“I’ll go on,” she replied.
