Trump Calls Excused Juror a ‘Criminal’

  • Monday saw the start of the jury selection process in the criminal tax fraud case against Trump Organization. 
  • When they were told which case they might be deciding, prospective jurors gasped.
  • Jurors will decide if the organization defrauded tax officials.

The criminal tax-fraud case against Trump Organization, former president Donald Trump’s company, was presided over by the seven first jurors.

“Some of your are about to be chosen for a trial in criminal case,” 130 potential jurors were told by Justice Juan Merchan of the New York Supreme Court. He sworn them in at 11:11 a.m. in a Manhattan courtroom.

Select jurors will decide if the Trump Organization has defrauded tax authorities. Trump Organization is accused by paying executives untaxed perks such as free apartments or cars.

The trial was notified to prospective jurors that it is scheduled to end by the December holiday season.
