Trump-Backed Ariz. In the midst of VP Talk, Candidate Kari lake pledges full term

Kari Lake, Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate, said Sunday that she would serve eight years if elected in November. This dispelled speculation that she might be the running mate for former President Donald Trump in 2024 if he pursues another bid for office.

Lake spoke out about her confidence in winning next month’s election, and possibly reelection bid during an interview with Jonathan Karl on ABC’s “This Week”.

Karl’s question about whether she’d be able to finish her term was answered by Lake: “I’m going 8 years as governor of Arizona.”

He said, “Is it a commitment that I will finish my team?”

Lake responded: “Yeah. Lake replied: “Yeah. I’m going for eight years.”

Karl asked Lake about her thoughts if Trump wanted her to be his No. 2 She said that she would have to “laugh at this question.”

She stated, “I hear this a lot on campaign trail, and what I think Jonathan is doing is trying to scare people I’m leaving,” “I am dedicated and committed to saving Arizona.”

Lake Locked in a race against the clockIn a race that was largely driven by Republican nominee’s debunked claims regarding the 2020 presidential election, Katie Hobbs is the Democratic Secretary of State.
