Wi-Fi 6E introduced us 6GHz WiFi. Wi-Fi7 (802.11be), however, is poised to take it further. TP-Link announces a range routers(opens in a new tabYou will benefit from it. Wi-Fi 7 will offer many benefits over Wi Fi 6 and Wi Fi 6E, thanks to the better use of 6GHz bands.
Wi-Fi 7 will be able to access 320MHz channels at 4096QAM, compared to 160MHZ or 1024QAM on Wi-Fi 6E and 6E. You will also see speed improvements due to 16×16 MU–MIMO and backhaulaggregation on Deco series. Compare to the Best Wi-Fi routers 6EWi-Fi 7 will offer a significant speed advantage.
The high-end BE900, TP-Link’s standalone routers, has a quad-band BE24000 link. It’s approximately 24,000Mbps across all four band. Speeds are 1376Mbps at both 2.4GHz and two 5GHz bands, each at 5760Mbps, and a 6Ghz band at 11520Mbps. The larger bands and better data handling allow for a high 6Ghz speed. TP-Link is committed to maintaining 5GHz performance for the future, even though most people will use 5GHz devices in years to come.
You also get 10GbE (10Gbps Ethernet), networking that is similar to that of the Archer AXE300. It includes an RJ45 Ethernet port, a combination port with RJ45 and SFP+.
These are just a few numbers, but the bottom line is that your Wi-Fi connection gets better and faster.
The new TP Link Archer BE900 router looks futuristic. It is more like a gaming console. All 12 antennas are internal and placed in the router’s top section for maximum coverage. The front has a display that displays custom graphics, just above a touch screen. This touch screen is able to show network status and provides basic controls for users who don’t want to open an app.
It will be available at a launch price of $699.99, which is comparable to some of today’s most expensive routers. The tri-band BE800 drops one of the 5GHz bands, while the BE550 cuts speeds in half for 5GHz and 6GHz. Wi-Fi 6 speeds seem to be being used by the 2.4GHz band. The BE800 has dual 10GbE ports while the BE550 only has 2.5GbE. Most people will be able to live with 2.5GbE ports on the lower-end model.
Next, TP-Link’s GE800 matches the BE800 in terms rough specs and a BE19000 tri-band connectivity. This model is unique because of its aggressive design, which looks like science fiction. TP-Link has updated its software to add a new game panel that will keep you informed about network performance. It includes a dedicated gaming port as well as optimized one-click acceleration.
TP-Link’s Deco series also received a few new models, as well as software upgrades that make Deco easier and more performant. The Deco BE95 top-end router is amazing with BE33000 wireless speeds. The mesh router features two full-speed 6GHz channels, one 5GHz band and one at 2.4GHz, which is not the Archer BE900. The mesh can make maximum use of the 6GHz band, keeping mesh link speeds high. You can also set it to use the band for a dedicated mesh backhaul. The mesh kit comes with two nodes and will cost $1199.99
This quad-band setup makes a difference to Wi-Fi mesh systems that use dual 5GHz bands such as the one we saw in our Netgear Orbi RBKE963 review.
The BE85 is cheaper at $999.99, but drops the second 6GHz band. The BE22000 connection is slower, but should work well with most fiber internet connections. Families looking to save money will find the BE65, which has a BE11000 connection, as the cheapest Wi Fi 7 Deco.
TP-Link confirmed software upgrades for Deco. Deco V3 will include a few upgrades to the mesh link, which uses multiple connections and learns your home’s conditions. Deco will include the Matter smart home hub, which allows you to link all your smart homes devices onto one hub. TP-Link also maintained compatibility among all Deco models (50+), so that you have a lot of options for expanding your mesh coverage.
TP-Link also announced a few Wi-Fi 7 access points that are available for enterprise users. These include PoE support with a BE22000 ceiling mount option, and a BE11000 rooftop mount option.
