Toyota has The latest Prius has been unveiledThe company presented the model at an event just before the 2022 Los Angeles Auto Show. It claimed that it is the most fuel-efficient entry in its lineup. The 2023 was designed by the company. PriusAvailable in LE, XLE or Limited grades, the XLE will have a lower center-of-gravity, a wider stance, a lower driving position, and a higher driving position. The roofline of the new model is 2 inches lower than the predecessor and is 1 inch wider at its rear. Toyota clearly wanted a sportier, more modern appearance, which was helped by the larger wheels on the Limited and XLE variants.
The new Prius also features performance improvements. The new Prius features Toyota’s 5th generation hybrid engine and a new lithium battery. This battery offers a 15% increase in power compared to the old nickel-metal battery technology. This means that the battery was lighter and more efficient than the previous nickel metal batteries. Toyota has also fitted Prius with a larger, two-liter gas engine because it is still a hybrid vehicle that does not rely solely upon electricity.
The Front-Wheel Drive variants are said to have 194 horsepower and can reach 0-60 mph in 7.2 seconds. That’s faster than the FWD vehicles’ 9.8 seconds. The All-Wheel Drive models can reach speeds of 0-60 mph in seven seconds and have a power output of 196 horsepower. All models come with three drive modes: Eco for fuel economy, Power and Sport for increased throttle responsiveness, and Power mode for speed.
Additional features include half-a dozen USB C ports and the Toyota Audio Multimedia System with Apple CarPlay Android Auto compatibility. Toyota’s Connected service Drive Connect provides owners with an intelligent assistant that can listen to voice commands and use cloud navigation. It can download the most recent map, traffic, and routing information from cloud. If drivers really have trouble finding their next destination, they may use Destination Assistance to chat with a live agent anytime of the day.
For driver assistance, the vehicle features a Blind Spot monitor with rear cross traffic alert, and Front and rear parking assist with automatic brakes on all variants. Limited models include a Panoramic View Monitor, which provides a 360-degree live rotation of the vehicle. This monitor can also be used to assist drivers in parallel parking and backing into parking spaces.
The 2023 Prius will also include the most recent version of Toyota Safety Sense generation. This enables a precollision system that includes pedestrian detection, lane departure alert, steering assist, and cruise control. The proactive driving assistance feature is a new addition to Prius and the entire model. It allows gentle braking in curves, or when it detects a pedestrian, cyclist or vehicle ahead of it.
Toyota has not yet announced the pricing or availability of the 2023 Prius. However, it is promising to make another announcement in the coming year.
