Tottenham’s thrilling attack display was evident during Eintracht Frankfurt’s 3-2 win in Champions League.
But it left former Spurs midfielder Jamie O’Hara questioning: where has that been all season?
Antonio Conte’s side Group D was taken under controlAfter coming from behind, the team scored three goals quickly in the first half.
Heung-min Son won a brace of incredible feats, while Harry Kane won and converted an penalty as Tottenham turned on style.
Even when Frankfurt went down to ten men and pulled a goal back, Spurs pushed for a fourth goal – and Kane missed a stoppage-time penalty.
But, the Premier League’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has not been able to provide such drama.
While Spurs are third, four points off league leaders Arsenal, questions have been asked of Conte’s conservative methods.
O’Hara said: “One thing that annoys me with this Tottenham team right now: we concede the first goal and then all of a sudden, we wake up.
“We played brilliant, free-flowing football and we were brilliant to watch tonight.
“We went after Frankfurt, they couldn’t deal with Kane and Son. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg was simply amazing.
“Why don’t we play like that in the Premier League?”
And ex-Chelsea defender Jason Cundy insisted that Tottenham went from ‘bang average’ in the Premier League to ‘sensational’ on Wednesday night.
“That’s the head-scratcher. I’ve seen enough games this season where Spurs have been bang average and grinded out results,” Cundy told talkSPORT.
“But for parts tonight, Tottenham were sensational.
“Son and Kane were tearing Frankfurt apart.”
