Top National Security Prosecutor Investigating Mar-a-Lago Docs – WAPo

David Raskin is a veteran prosecutor who oversaw the case against an FBI analyst who pleaded guiltyTo keep classified materials at home has joined the team that is investigating documents found at the former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago house. The Washington Post reported.

Raskin was previously a New York senior federal prosecutor, and is well-known for his work in the case of Co-conspirator in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001as well as the 1998 bombings at US embassies East Africa. Raskin was a Missouri prosecutor where he investigated Kendra Kingsbury’s case, an FBI analyst. On October 13, she pleaded guilty for keeping national defense documents at her home. Kingsbury can spend up to ten years in federal prison

According to the Post, Raskin is known for his work in such high-profile cases and has been called one of America’s most effective terrorism prosecutors. According to sources familiar with the Mar-A-Lago case, Raskin assisted the investigation after initially being called by the Department of Justice for consultation on the criminal investigation into the attack on the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.

According to experts in national security law, the Post was told by Post that the prosecutors have enough evidence to support the possibility of bringing Trump charges.

Raskin’s involvement in the investigation indicates that the case is heading towards prosecution. According toNumerous Jurists and former US attorneys.

“This move suggests DOJ is seriously considering criminal charges,” Barb McQuade, a former US AttorneyAnd Michigan Law School professor, TweetRaskin’s participation was announced. “In light of the apparent aggravating factors it would be difficult to decline charging this case, when ordinary government employees are charged for less egregious behavior.”

Jurists Insider reported that in August they believed the former President could be indicted soon.
