Sen. Tim Scott (Republican from South Carolina) appeared on “Sunday Night in America” in order to discuss the effect of rising inflation rates for average Americans in the lead up to the midterm elections.

New economic reports revealed that inflation had “cooled off” in July. Inflation increased by 8.3%The August year-over-2018 inflation rate was.1% higher in August than the economists predicted. Biden’s “Inflation Reduction Act” was passed on Tuesday, despite the disappointing inflation report. Many saw this as a tone deaf display.

Scott similarly criticised Biden as the cause of rising inflation rates.

“Inflation has increased 17 straight months since Biden assumed office. People living paycheck-to-paycheck are really affected by this. The truth is Biden’s inflation equals a pay cut for Americans all across the country,” Scott said.

REP. KUSTOFF SLAMS BIDEN ADMIN FOR INFLATION CELEBRATION AFTER CPI REPORTS 8.3% INFLATION: THEY’RE ‘TONE DEAF’

He pointed out that most Americans report experiencing financial hardship due to high inflation rates. Nearly one in four Americans reported that they also bought less or only essential items.

“Times are hard because Biden continues to spend money we don’t have,” Scott said.

The senator also attacked “Inflation Reduction Bill”They also noted that it is unlikely to lower inflation, and will most likely only increase it.

“You know what? They have a habit of misnaming every thing. The COVID Relief Package, $1.9 Trillion. COVID Relief, 1% for vaccinating was the only thing missing from COVID Relief. The Inflation Acceleration Act is what it should have been named because of $740 billion of spending, creating 87,000 new positions for the IRS to hunt through your accounts to see if you’re a tax cheat or not, especially those under $200,000. He said that it was the most ridiculously named bill since the COVID Relief Act.

“So, the truth is that Democrats hope that you believe them and not what your bills say at the pump. However, you can trust them that they will reduce inflation by over-spending. Scott said that it was absurd.

INFLATION REDUCTION ACT CELEBRATION ‘NOT BECAUSE WE HAD SOLVED INFLATION:’ SPERLING

Scott said that there was only one way to stop inflation: Republicans must retake the Senate and House.

“Unfortunately elections are our most powerful tool. If we are able to win back the majority of the House and the Senate, then we can turn off the spigot. And when we turn that spigot off, then inflation will go down because the cause of inflation is, in fact, over-spending because this administration loves to spend money we don’t have buying things we don’t need and impressing people who are simply unimpressed. Scott stated that winning elections is the best way to turn off the spigot.

“The overall economic system would be number one. Number two is inflation, followed by gas prices and fourth by crime. It is possible to stop the spread of crime, which is a major problem in our most marginalized communities. Stop pretending we can fund the police. Scott stated that we must reimburse the police.
