Following Perry and Rhett’s performance, fans took to Twitter to praise the artists.
“Katy Perry and Thomas Rhett is the duo I didn’t know I needed,” one user wrote.
“This duet by Katy Perry and Thomas Rhett is a bop. It should be a single, and pushed to country radio,” another. added.
Rhett’s April album was released with the title track.

Perry and the country music star spoke out to People magazine in January.
“I don’t think we were looking to collaborate on this song,” he said. “Allison Jones over at the label was like, ‘Do you care if I send this to Katy Perry’s team?'”
Rhett said, “And I was like,”Yeah but they won’t respond but you can send it.”

Perry replied within 24 hours and was eager to work with him.
Rhett said that she put a lot into this vocal, and it’s one the best. She’s an amazing singer. But this reminded me how incredible of a vocalist she really is. It just seemed to come alive for me.”

Perry made her CMAs debut Wednesday evening as she arrived at the biggest night of country music wearing a similar outfit to her viral, all-denim VMAs look in 2014.
On the CMAs red-carpet, the singer of “California Gurls”, was seen wearing a Marques Almeida jumpsuit and silver accessories.
