Costa is now a 34-year old, sporting a Wolverhampton Wanderers shirt. He has had a rough couple of years, with long periods without playing. It will not surprise anyone who has seen his three-year stint as a Stamford Bridge player, which was highlighted by one particular moment.
It all began with Costa in the middle of his Premier LeagueAfter a match, pomp and mingling in the corporate area of the stadium. Members of his entourage were growing restless, with one companion in particular understandably not convinced by the striker’s assurances, in increasingly animated Spanish, that he would be ready to leave shortly. After realizing that his words were not enough, he was able to move on. Chelsea’s talisman decided there was only one remaining course of action. He looked at his audience and then he took one more glass. Then he made his exit.
Costa is a man who never knew he was taking a half-measure in his extraordinary career.
