With ten paid vacation days and zero paid leave days, the US — dubbed the “no-vacation nation” — has the world’s least paid leave. It’s also the only industrialized country that has zero statutory paid time, compared with the global average 18.2 days.

This is according to a ReportResume.io published the following information. Resume.io is a career site that analyzed August data.
Lotte van Rijk, a member of Resume.io’s content team, said that “the United States’ absence of paid vacation days negatively affects work-life harmony in many ways.” CNBC.
“Studies prove that American workers don’t take vacations 50%. This lack of downtime could lead to burnout and stress — and in more severe cases depression and mental health conditions,” van Rijswijk added.
Conversely, Iran offers the most paid vacation days — 27 public holidays and 26 paid leave days, per the report.
Resume.io analyzed data about laws governing annual statutory paid holiday and paid public holidays in 197 nations to compile this report. According to the report, countries were ranked on the basis of the total number of statutory paid holiday days and paid public holidays each year.
