‘The Mummy’: Brendan Fraser hints at returning to the franchise; gives his opinion on Tom Cruise’s reboot flop

The American-Canadian actor Brendan Fraser has shared his thoughts on Tom Cruise’s 2017 The Mummy reboot.

Starred as the actor The MummyTrilogy between 1999 and 2008.

It’s been more than a decade since Brendan Fraser starred in The Mummy franchise and now he is open to reprising the role of Rick O’Connell.

The actor, 53 years old, also shared the reasons why he believes the 2017 series reboot starring Tom Cruise did not perform.

Brendan Fraser hasn’t returned to the land of mummies since his last The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon EmperorIt was released in 2008.

A recent interview was conducted with Variety, talking about his return to the franchise, the actor said, “I don’t know how it would work. But I’d be open to it if someone came up with the right conceit.”

The actor also shared his opinions on The Mummy film series as a part of the media company’s cover story on the making of his film, The Whale.

“It’s hard to make that movie,” the actor continued. “The ingredient that we had going on for our Mummy, which I didn’t see in that film, was fun.”

“That was what was lacking in that incarnation. It was too straight-ahead horror film. ‘The Mummy’ should be a thrill ride, but not terrifying and scary,” Brendan Fraser added.

“I know how difficult it is to pull it off.” The actor concluded, “I tried to do it three times.”

Brendan Fraser was recently employed in the cancelled BatgirlHe played the role of Firefly in this adaptation.
