Namtan, Namtan’s dog, was severely tortured when rescuers saw her. She was desperate and had no hope of survival. Her nose had been severed and she couldn’t eat. Lucky for her, an animal rescue group usually saves elephants spotted her.
Namtan was rescued by the Save Elephant Foundation of Thailand. They are well-known for their efforts to save elephants. She was found on the streets with her nose hanging out of her face. It was possible that the knife or machete had cut it.
She struggled to eat and had to resort to making her own food.
Namtan needed life-saving surgery, and it was difficult for rescuers to locate a veterinarian. Many vets told them that the surgery was impossible because it had been so long since her injury. They finally found a vet who was willing to perform the life-saving surgery.
Thanks to the surgeon’s remarkable efforts, Namtan pulled through! It was hard to believe that she survived her surgery. Namtan was eager to get going and since her operation, her injury has healed well she’s now living at Elephant Park SanctuaryShe is in the care and love of her rescuers
