The streaming giant has disclosed the way they’ll be addressing Princess Diana’s death in Season 6 of The Crown.

Netflix’s biggest hit The Crown has begun filming Season 6.
The CrownWhile Season 5 is only weeks away, production on the next installment has already started.
As per Deadline, Netflix’s hit series The Crown which is shooting its Season 6 will not be showing Princess Diana’s fatal car crash that ended her life. Independently, the outlet confirmed that the incident would not be recreated.
“We’ve been dreading getting to this point. The countdown is two weeks and while we’re calmly carrying on it’s fair to acknowledge that there’s a certain anxiety; a palpable sense of being slightly on edge,” said a source on the production.
“I mean there’s bombshell sensitivity surrounding this one,” the source added.
A source also confirmed that the crash of a car would not be filmed. The CrownSeason 6 will not only cover the events that occurred before and following the collision, but it will also include season 6.
The source continued, “It’s the run-up: the car leaving The Ritz after midnight with paparazzi in pursuit and then the aftermath with the British Ambassador to France swinging into action with the Foreign Office and then the subsequent constitutional aftermath.”
This follows a statement by Netflix that was released to The Sun said, “The exact moment of the car crash impact will not be shown.”
The CrownSeason 5 will be available on Netflix on November 9, 2022. The series will feature the lives and times of the Royal family during the early 1990s. The Australian actress Elizabeth Debicki will play Princess Diana in Seasons 5/6, while Dominic West will play Prince Charles.
