The Audio Shows Bob Woodward’s Realization that Trump was an “Unparalleled Danger” and Not Just Bad at Being President

Bob Woodward, Watergate journalist and Watergate journalist wrote that Trump was an “unparalleled threat” after he listened to the tapes once more. 

“The Trump Tapes: Bob Woodward’s Twenty Interviews with President Trump,” set to be released Oct. 25, is an audiobook of previously unreleased conversations between the veteran journalist and the businessman-turned-politician. 

The following is an Washington Post Op-EdWoodward said Sunday that he had released a portion of “The Trump Tapes”, which was previously unavailable, and concluded his 2020 book by calling Trump “the wrong man to do the job.” 

Woodward says that his assessment of Trump was inaccurate.

“Two and a half years later, it dawns on me that I didn’t go far enough.” Woodward said that Trump is an unrivalled danger.

He continued, “When he talks about the wide range of issues ranging from foreign policy to virus to racial injustice, it is clear that he doesn’t know what he should do.” Trump was overwhelmed with the job. He was very disconnected from the leadership expectations and needs of the public. His absolute focus became the presidency.

Woodward explained in his piece for The Post that he released the tapes in order to capture Trump’s personality better than the written word. Woodward said that Trump’s voice magnifies the presence of his character.

Listeners can hear Trump interrupting and sometimes mocking Woodward during their discussion about the most pressing issues of his presidency. This includes his handling of the COVID-19 Pandemic which Woodward called Trump’s “greatest failing.”
