Texas Hires Bus Contractor to Transport Migrants from Texas to NYC.

  • Over the last few months, Texas has bused thousands to east coast cities.
  • According to the AP, a contractor busing migrants was banned from speaking to New York City officials.
  • Non-profit organizations face difficulties in meeting and helping those who arrive because of the lack of communication.

Texas hired a contractor to transport migrants. He signed an agreement prohibiting them from speaking to New York officials. The Associated Press reported.

Manuel Castro, Commissioner of the New York City Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Relations, stated to the AP, that Texas is a major obstacle in providing resources for migrants from Texas.

“It’s problematic because we don’t know when these buses will arrive, how many buses will be coming, if any of these people have medical conditions that require assistance, if there are any who need a wheelchair, it’s all unknown,”Castro stated to the outlet. “We want to at least know this so we can best assist people as they arrive.”

Volunteer groups are reliant on tips for assistance as they wait hours at New York’s Port Authority to receive buses from Texas.

Texas Governor. Greg Abbott has been sending buses full of migrants to democratic places like Washington D.C. or New York. President Joe Biden’s immigration policy.

Following the example of Abbott, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis assumed responsibility for flying 50 migrants from Florida to Martha’s Vineyard this past week.

According to the AP, approximately 8,000 migrants have been bused from Texas into Washington D.C. while another 2,200 have been bused to New York City.

Several migrants spoke out to the AP, thanking the AP for their help in reaching East Coast cities. The New York Times reported that the influx has meant that the volunteer and non-profit groups helping these migrants have been overwhelmed, and many migrants are ending up in homeless shelters.

Abbott’s Office denied that there was a lack of communication in a statement to AP.

“Instead of complaining about fulfilling their sanctuary city promises, these Democrat hypocrites should call on President Biden to do his job and secure the border — something the president continues failing to do,” spokeswoman Renae Eze said Thursday.
