Texas DPS announces the arrest of 3 of the state’s “Most Wanted” offenders in Texas.

Three of the Top 10 Most Wanted Fugitives and Sexual OffendersAccording to Texas’ Department of Public Safety, over a week ago, ten people were arrested in Texas.

According to a Tuesday news release by the agency, all three arrests were made between Nov. 15, and Nov. 17.

Julian Murillo, fugitive, was detained in California on Nov. 15, while Catarino Chavez III (sex offender) and Daniel Munoz (sex offender) were both detained in Dallas and San Antonio on Nov. 17.

Texas DPS stated that Murillo was captured following a tip. Texas Crime Stoppers,Unidentified callers will be offered a reward up to $5,000

Murillo (23 years old) was found and taken into custody Olivehurst, Calif.U.S. Gulf Coast Vicolent Offenders Futtive Task Force, DPS special agents and the U.S. Marshals Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Victoria County Sheriff’s Office wanted Murillo since December 2021. He was wanted for murder, aggravated burglary, evading capture/detention and failure-to-identify. Murillo was allegedly involved in the September 2021 murder of a 19 year-old Victoria man.

Chavez, 60 years old, was taken into custody by several agencies at a Dallas, Texas 

The Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles issued him a parole violation warrant in May. He was wanted for a long time. The Grand Prairie Police Department issued another warrant for his arrest in August for failing to register him as a sex ofender.

Chavez was sentenced to five-years in prison for attempted aggravated child sexual assault. After incidents involving a 13 year-old girl and a 14-year old boy, Chavez was convicted of two counts for aggravated sexual abuse of a minor and two counts for indecency.

He was sentenced to 20-years for each of the charges, but was granted parole in June 2021.

Munoz (40) was detained at a San Antonio home by multiple agencies, including the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, DPS Special Agents, Texas Highway Patrol, Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, Bexar County District Attorney’s Office, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Texas Attorney General’s Office and the U.S. The Naval Criminal Investigative Service was also involved in the arrest.

Two warrants for his arrest were issued by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office in February for him not following sex offender registration requirements.

Munoz was convicted for robbery in 2000 and sentenced at 10 years. He was convicted five years later. Two counts of sexual abuseFollowing an incident with a 14year-old girl, the child was released. He was sentenced to two 10-year terms, each concurrently. However, he was released before the deadline. The precise date of his release was not available.

He was sentenced to three-year probation after he was convicted for failing to comply with sex offenders registration requirements in 2019.

TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF POLICE APPREHENDS 19 ILLEGAL IMIGRANTS FROM HUMAN SMUGGLING ATTEMPTS.

Texas DPS declared its 2022 goals Officers and other agencies64 people were taken into custody on the state’s 10 Most Wanted Fugitives & Sex Offenders list. This includes 32 gang members and 34 sexual offenders.

Tipsters who provide information that leads to an arrest have received $88,000 in reward money. Anyone who leads to the arrest or capture of someone on Texas’ Top 10 Most Wanted lists is eligible to receive a cash reward.

By calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477) or by going to the DPS website, select the fugitive and click on “Submit Tip”.
