Tesla Delivers the First All-Electric Semi Trucks To PepsiCo

  • On Thursday, Tesla delivered its first electric semitrailer vehicle to PepsiCo.
  • After several years of delays, delivery was made.
  • Elon Musk, Tesla CEO said that in October, the company was aiming to manufacture 50,000 Semis in North America by 2020.

PepsiCo received Thursday’s first electric semitrailer trailer truck from Tesla. This was in addition to the expanding range of electric vehicles that Tesla makes.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk drove a Semi to the delivery ceremony, which took place at a factory near Reno in Nevada.

The Semi is an automaker’s class-8, all-electric cargo truck. It can go 300 to 500 miles on one charge depending on the model. 

Musk stated that Musk spoke at the Thursday event, “If you are a trucker and want the most powerful rig on the roads, this is it.”

After the delivery of the Semi trucks by Tesla, Numerous years of delay. They were first unveiled in 2017 and initially slated for delivery in 2019 — but the plan delayed in part due to a shortage of parts and supply chain challenges.
