Sweet Moment Dog hugs Firefighter Who Saved Him from a Roof

The emergency services do a stellar job and aren’t thanked enough.

In moments of shock and terror, human beings can forget to do the smallest things – like thank the person who just saved their life – but animals? Animals are renowned for their paw-fect manners.

This Husky-cross dog is an example.

The hapless hound was snapped by Wells Maine Police force in…wait for it…Wells, Maine, USA, when he found his way onto the porch roof of a house – the kind of spooky-looking house that Brits can only dream of living in.

They were contacted by several residents who were concerned about the dog and rushed to call the fire department.

It looks like the dog climbed out of an upstairs sash window – but couldn’t quite figure out how to get back in. We’ve all been there, amirite?

Captain Nawfel, a firefighter, took one for his team and climbed up in order to save the dog.

However, the dog wasn’t quite ready to go back in the house, and while the fireman sat there lifting the window up for him, the pooch did one last lap of the roof, looking down on his adoring public.

The man then walks over to him to kiss his face before settling down to have a cuddle with him.

Unfortunately, firefighters don’t have time to cuddle dogs on duty (lives to save and that) so he had to pat the dog and then gently bundle him back into the house.

‘Hi, friends!’

‘Can someone come help a hound out?’

‘Thank you, friend’

‘Thank you to all that called and helped save him,’ Wells Maine Police wrote on their Facebook page.

‘Even doggies need to be saved sometimes!’

They added: ‘It’s paw natively love! What is more beautiful than an animal showing gratitude?!’
