A Romanian puppy who was hungry found food by the side road in the middle of a stormy rainstorm. The pup was scared and wet as he searched for food to fill his stomach.
It was fate that a kind stranger stepped in at the right moment. She knew that she had to help the pup when she saw it.
“Denisa, our wonderful vet, was driving back from seeing family,” June Chapman, spokesperson for 1 Dog At A Time Rescue, told The Dodo. “[She stopped]As she does every time, she stopped to feed the homeless on her way back and noticed a small and fragile pup that was so weak she knew he needed help. [was] in danger from the speeding cars.”
The vet was concerned and got out of her vehicle to check if the puppy could be helped. At first, he wasn’t so sure, but with gentle persuasion, he put his face into Denisa’s hands. The puppy was named Toby by Denisa.
“Thankfully Little Toby is now safe at the clinic with our vet Denisa and will receive all the care and treatment he needs,” Chapman said. “He will be looked after in a foster home until he is old enough to travel to the UK.”
Soon enough, Toby — who’s estimated to be 1 or 2 months old — will find a family of his own. For now, he’ll never have to worry about searching for scraps in the rain ever again.
