Stranger Things recently announced episode 1’s title of the finale season, and has many fans theorising what it could be. The most anticipated return of Eddie Munson is at the top of the list. He is a fun-loving punk who loves Dungeons and Dragons and is an outcast at his school. His charisma and bond with Dustin Henderson made him instantly popular among his faithful fans. However, Eddie’s screen time was short, and by the end of the season, he died fighting as a true comrade.

Maya Hawke portrays Robin Buckly Noted Stranger Things had many characters, making it difficult for the creators of the show to keep him around until the end. Fans began to talk about his re-emergence, which the Duffer brothers may have heard. The new title of season 5, ”Chapter One: The Crawl,” is speculated to be Metallica’s, Master of Puppet song’s first line, “come crawling faster, obey your master.” This exact song was used by Eddie to distract Vecna’s minions in the season 4 finale, and it resulted in his death. It is possible that the series could hint at this fragment of the show, but with a darker twist.
“We get it, you want him to come back, get over it” – naysayers echo whenever Eddie’s involvement in season 5 is mentioned. It’s well known that a massive part of the audience wants him to return – but why would that be beneficial?

Season finale: Eddie’s dark future
It is not good news for Eddie’s role. Season 4 saw Billy once again. However, Vecna took on the role of Billy. It means that Vecna uses his prey’s fears to torment them, albeit if he has killed them in the first place. Vecna could assume the form of Dustin to try and trouble the grieving boy if he is his next target. If this is not a sad prospect already, there is another theory too: Eddie will be Vecna’s puppet as the undead.
Lowkey hopes they include Eddie in Season 5 somehow. Like vecna playing with Dustin as he did with Billy.

Master of Puppets commands the subject to ‘crawl’ back to “obey your master.” Since he died in Vecnas world, the Upside Down, Eddie’s body may be in Vecna’s control. The villain can also possess the bodies of his deceased prey, as was shown in season 3. Vecna was inspired to fight the Night King by this antagonist. He can command an army to defeat his foe. This was evident in season 3, when Billy assembled an army of unthinking robots to overthrow Hawkins. Even though he was controlled by the Mind Flayer.
Other meanings of “The Crawl”
If Eddie doesn’t return, the title has a different meaning. Season 4: Dr Owns was hurt while fleeing from the NINA Project desert area. Owns sustained injuries when the army attacked the location. The episode could focus on him if he survives.
Twitterati thinks it could refer to Eddie crawling out from the Upside Down. This possibility is optimistic but unreal because Eddie died in Dustin’s arms. Another theory about “The Crawl” could be a reference to Max’s coming out of her coma, or conversely, Vecna’s return to Hawkins from the Upside Down.
