‘Star Wars: Andor’: New pods, four-armed aliens and more Easter eggs in episode 6

Star Wars: Andor’s sixth episode subtly laid various Easter eggs that give clues for the upcoming Rebellion. The show is quite unique and pays tribute to the main lore.

This episode was about Cassian’s eagerly awaited heist. Cassian Andor and his crew pulled it off despite the tragedy. Cassian has become the face and top antagonist of the Public Enemy. As the story continues, more threads will be revealed to reveal Rebel Alliance Easter eggs.

A former Stromtrooper

Taramyn Barcona is a crucial part of the Aldhani Cell. It turns out that he was an Imperial Stormtrooper. According to the canon, this is huge because it’s the first time we see a trooper who had abandoned his post for the Rebellion. This information reveals everything, including his discipline and knowledge of Imperial protocols. He is even a trailblazer himself, before Jannah, Finn, and other First Order Stormtrooper rebels.

Sign up for Echo call

Echo was used in the show, as seen on the Rebel base at Hoth in The Empire Strikes back. The original name of the venue was “Echo Base”. This sign shows how long the Rebel Alliance has been using it.

Rebels swimming

During the infiltration, the rebels swam to the Imperial base, which shows how things haven’t changed. Cal Kestis did it in the past when he broke into Inquisitors’ base at the water moon Nur. The Mustafar systemObi-Wan also did this infiltrating the same place during his series.

Four-armed alien’s technology

Since Nemik was in danger, most Rebels had to see a doctor. While the alien who treated him appeared to be similar to Bobu Frik or Maz Kanata in appearance, he was clearly of another race. Instead of giving up on their dream of returning, the creators gave an easter egg to avoid falling into the traps of nostalgia and familiarity. Lando’s friend Lobot first introduced cybernetic implants to the doctor. It highlights their relationship.

Cassian’s shot

Cassian, for many, is like a darker Han Solo. Both of their back stories involve serving time Mimban and being involved with Rebels for money. Episode 6 solidifies these theories when Cassian shoots Skeen dead for his plans of betraying the Rebels, similar to ‘Han shot first’. Andor shows that he is someone who doesn’t think twice before eliminating a threat, and the image is consistent with his Star Wars Story: Rogue OneScene in which he shot down an informant about to be arrested.

Star Wars’ Senate

AndorComes back to one the most important places in Star Wars, The Senate Building. In the aftermath of Yoda’s duel against Palpatine Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the SithWe now see the new installation, which was destroyed by the pods.

Ghorman Massacre

The session in the Senate is all about planet Ghorman’s events. Star Wars RebelsThis was first reported. The site will eventually lead the Imperial massacre of civilians. After this Mon Mothma will shift away from politics to become more militant in rebellion. Grand Moff Tarkin was the one responsible for the massacre. AndorTarkin’s return had been planned. The second season could portray the events in Ghorman.

HoloNews

HoloNet spreads news like wildfire after the heist. It can be interpreted as: either the Empire has no control or they don’t mind HoloNews. Comics reveal that Emperor didn’t fear the Rebellion, as he knew they would be drawn to the dark side. This would strengthen the Sith group. He was also able to make an enemy of the Empire fight for his benefit.
