Bengals fans, aren’t you concerned? On Sunday, the New York Jets will play host to the 0-2 Bengals on CBS at 1 p.m. New York will be the Bengals’ opponent. They have been struggling in the first two games. The Bengals are more than just a field goal ahead of the Jets on the road.
It’s a great opportunity for bettors, as the line is a prime example of recency bias. Is the Bengals as good this year as they were in their postseason run? Perhaps not. This game was a six-point favorite for the Bengals. The line is now much smaller.
And while we should mention that the Bengals low point in 2021 came at the hands of the Jets as they lost to the Mike White-led Jets, it has little bearing on this year’s team, despite the Week 2 loss to the Cooper Rush-led Cowboys.
Although both teams were middle-of the-road against passing this year, the Jets allowed Lamar Jackson to throw 300+ yards and three scores in Week 1 while the other teams did not. Joe Flacco has been fine for the Jets, throwing for 616 yards on the season – trailing only Tua Tagovailoa and Carson Wentz for the most in the league.
