If you’re a Spotify user, check your email because the company has sent out a warning not to update to watchOS 9 just yet. According to the company, there’s a bug in the first release that stops Spotify’s music streaming service working properly.
According to Spotify’s email, streaming is problematic. Spotify’s email states that streaming is problematic. Users can either download podcasts or songs to their watch and listen offline. Or, you can stream music from your iPhone. No details about the bug are available, and Spotify said in the email that users should hold off on watchOS 9 until “Apple has implemented a fix for the issue.” As of this writing, Spotify’s support websiteThis does not address watchOS 9’s problem.
Apple WatchOS 9 was released earlier in the week, and unfortunately, if you already upgraded, there’s no turning back. A beta of watchOS 9.1 is available, but it’s not known if it contains a fix for this bug.
Spotify’s problem is following news of iPhone 14 activation problems. Customers will receive the new phone along with the Apple Watch Series 8 or Apple Watch SE on Friday. The Apple Watch Ultra begins shipping on September 23.
