The Los Angeles Lakers and Rob Pelinka, the team’s vice president of basketball operations and general manager, agreed to a multi-year contract extension Saturday, a league source confirmed to The Athletic. The extension will run through 2026, in alignment with new coach Darvin Ham’s contract.

The Lakers (33-49), finished 11th in Western Conference last season and failed to make the playoffs. Los Angeles will open the 2022-23 season against the reigning NBA champion on Oct. 18. Golden State Warriors.
