Alison Lewis bought a large pumpkin at the grocery store and brought it home to make soup.
Max and Lilly, Max’s dogs, immediately stopped running when they saw the orange squash. The Dodo quoted Lewis as saying, “I set down the pumpkin and their expression was great because they had never seen a pumpkin before.”
Lewis reached for her phone to record the funny responses from her dogs. But Lilly was already taking the pumpkin.
Lilly refused to throw the pumpkin down the stairs, even though she was caught in the act. Lilly was able to play with the pumpkin even though it did not explode upon impact.
Lilly did not know that pumpkin, raw or cooked, is safe for dogs.
Lewis remarked, “She believed it was a ball. She was playing with it and licking its skin, as if it was hers.
This is Lilly stealing the pumpkin.
Lewis grabbed the pumpkin from Lilly while she was rolling it around in the yard and waggling her tail. She couldn’t blame Lilly for being intrigued by the squishy object because it resembled a ball, which was Lilly’s favorite toy.
Lewis claims that Lilly is averse to any object that can be thrown and is round. She is obsessed.
To Lilly’s dismay, Lewis brought the pumpkin back inside and sliced it in half before roasting it for her soup.
Lilly doesn’t have to be worried. Lewis had plans for Halloween and bought pumpkins for Lilly and her dog.
