Liverpool striker Nunez has made just three starts since his £68m move from Benfica this summer but has three goals to his name for the Reds already, including one against Arsenal just last Sunday.
Tavernier is now Rangers captain and has four goals as well as four assists from this season. His most recent goal was against St Mirren last weekend in the 4-1 win.
The home team has struggled in Champions League this season. They have lost all three of their games and are currently the last team to score in the competition.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side will back themselves in front of the home crowd, with their home form being a vital part of their run to last season’s Europa League final.
The Gers have won three of their last three league matches, including back-to back 4-0 victories. They are now just two points behind Celtic in the Scottish Premiership league, who has seven wins from nine.
Liverpool are struggling in the league this season with just two wins to their name, with last season’s Premier League and Champions League runners up down in 10th.
Jurgen Klopp’s side fell to a 3-2 defeat to leaguer leaders Arsenal last on the weekend, but have faired slightly better in European competition this season.
Reds have recouped from their 4-1 loss to Napoli on the opening evening to win Ajax and Rangers in two of their subsequent games. They are now second in the group and know that a win would place them in a strong position to advance to the knockout stage.
Last week’s 2-0 win for Liverpool was the first time the two sides have met in a competitive match.
