We now know the future of Silent Hill. At least, for the next couple years.
On Wednesday Konami announced that Silent Hill 2 would be remade by Bloober Team. Bloober Team is a horror studio best known for creating horror titles like Layers of Fear or The Medium. Silent Hill 2 is coming to you. PS5PC, and is a timed PS5 exclusive for at most one year.

Although there is no official release window at the moment, the teaser trailer shows James visiting the town. It also features glimpses of enemies such as the nurses and the Pyramid Head.
Masahiro Ito is a concept artist who worked originally with Team Silent on Silent Hill. He will also be contributing to Silent Hill 2’s remake. Konami mentioned in the livestream, that Ito was the first to be approached about the project three years back.
Ito is not the only Silent Hill 2 veteran who will be working on the remake. Akira Yamoaka (a composer who has been involved in many titles, including Silent Hill mainline and The Medium) will also be returning to the remake.
Yamoaka stated that Silent Hill’s presence in the hearts of people more than 20 years after its death makes him very happy.
Remakes have been a key component of some of the most popular horror games in recent years. Companies like Electronic Arts and Capcom have released big remakes of classics like “Horror 911.” Resident Evil 4The Dead Space remakeThese are expected to be launched in January 2023 and February 2023, respectively.
Konami announced other Silent Hill projects as part of the livestream. Silent Hill Townfall is a new game that No Code has developed and Annapurna Interactive has published.
Also in development is a movie called Return to Silent Hill. It is based upon Silent Hill 2. Silent Hill’s Ascension is an interactive series where fans can vote for their decisions. Silent Hill F is a completely new game by Neobards Entertainment.
